My regular customers have been absolutely fabulous, as well as the tourists who frequent our town. What is really sad about small book shops closing is the fact that we are not generic, and most of us stock books that you cannot get from chain stores. I pity our future generations as they will not have the choice we can offer them - all titles available will be generic as chain stores only stock books that they can buy by the pallet.
